Visa Application

Some participants may need a visa to come to CPSWeek 2011 in Chicago, USA. To apply for visa you need a letter of invitation from CPSWeek organizers.
Please, read following instructions if you need a letter of invitation:

  • If you are an author of an accepted conference/workshop paper:
    • send a request to your conference/workshop point of contact (see list below)
    • include your name, title of accepted paper, e-mail address, postal address, and affiliation when submitting your request
  • If you are a conference/workshop attendee (non-author):
    • send a request to your conference/workshop point of contact (see list below)
    • include CPSWeek registration receipt when submitting your request (registration web site will be on-line soon)
    • include your name, e-mail address, postal address, and affiliation when submitting your request

Student Travel Grants

The CPSWeek 2011 conference organizers anticipate the availability of Student Travel Grants to support the participation of students in CPSWeek 2011 events. Each grant will contribute towards partial reimbursement of registration and travel costs.

Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: March 7th, 2011
  • Notification of Acceptance: March 18th, 2011

Eligibility

The award of the travel grants will be in accordance with the following guidelines:

  • The applicant must be a current graduate student at a U.S. institution of higher education.
  • The applicant must have a fully-paid student registration for HSCC, ICCPS, IPSN, LCTES or RTAS and must physically attend CPSWeek 2011.
  • Travel grants will be awarded on the basis of financial need. Students who are funded and have other means for covering their travel should not apply.
  • Students who have already received travel grant from a CPSWeek-related conference or workshop should not apply.

How to apply

  • Student applicants should pay the registration fees first and demonstrate their intention to travel to CPSWeek 2011. If selected, the travel grant should cover partially their registration and travel costs.
  • The student applicant must send an e-mail to dka@inf.ed.ac.uk.
    • The subject of the e-mail must be CPSWeek 2011 TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATION (in uppercase letters).
    • This e-mail must include the student's faculty advisor in the cc list.
    • The e-mail must include the following information:
         Name:
         University:
         Address:
         e-mail:
         Advisor Name:
         Research Topic:
         Degree Sought:
         Is your research funded by an active grant (yes/no)?
         If Yes, is the NSF the source of funding (yes/no)?
         Underrepresented state/institution (yes/no):
         Underrepresented/minority student (explain in few words):

Successful applicants will receive award letters by e-mail together with instructions on how to receive partial refunds which will be issued to the person or institution that covered the expenses.
